Get the Surfshark VPN deal that won me over for less than $2 per month
I’ve dabbled on and off with VPNs for the last few years, and I finally committed — in part because Surfshark was offering such a great deal that I figured the investment would inevitably pay for itself.
At just $53.76 for two years and three months (normally $377), it seemed like this $1.99/mo Surfshark deal made perfect sense.
To be honest, the price lured me in. Surfshark won a nearly perfect score in our review of the service, with a wide diversity of servers and good speeds. What I was looking for in a top VPN was, first and foremost, price. But the ability to drop in on a foreign Netflix server and watch a movie has been quite handy, and there’s been no trouble there.
Over time, though, what’s really appealed to me is the lack of device connection restrictions. As long as I’m logged in, I can run Surfshark on all my devices — every computer I (or my family) owns, plus phones and even (I discovered today) game consoles and smart TVs. A streaming service like Netflix presents a different catalog of streamed movies in other countries, so by logging into a VPN you can watch movies that you wouldn’t normally have access to. I’d much rather watch those movies on the couch, with a Surfshark app for an Xbox, PlayStation, or smart TV, rather than on my computer.
The Cyber Monday deal is for two years of Surfshark Starter, which provides all of the VPN services with no restrictions. If you’re really concerned about someone tracking your behavior, Surfshark allows you to route your VPN connection through two servers, rather than one. (Your connection will slow down, though.) In normal, single-connection Surfshark use, my connection slowed down by about 15 percent, which is fine by me.
Because VPNs and antivirus services are colliding, Surfshark offers traditional antimalware protection, too: Surfshark One, which offers antivirus and webcam protection, plus identity protection including breach alerts and personal data security reports. That’s on sale, too: $75.36 for 24 months, or $2.69 per month. There are shorter-term deals available, but without the great savings.
The link below will take you to the Surfshark checkout page, after an intermediary check by the Cloudflare service. Want more Cyber Monday deals? We got ’em.
