This 40-inch ultrawide gaming monitor is just $300 for Prime Day
When it comes to monitors, I’ve always ascribed to the “bigger is better” principle. But there’s no denying that bigger monitors come with bigger price tags, too. So, Amazon Prime Day is a great time to try and score a deal—and I’ve found one you won’t want to miss.
MSI has a 40-inch ultrawide gaming monitor with an IPS panel that’s dropped down to $300 right now (25% off) for Prime Day.
That makes this MSI MAG401QR the same discount price as the popular Gigabyte G34WQC, despite being even bigger and coming with a better IPS panel for more accurate colors. (That’s the kind of panel I insist upon for my own monitors, to make sure Photoshop shows me the correct white balance.) The resolution is the same, at a considerably larger size. And even with that upgraded panel, it’s still plenty fast at 155Hz so your gaming desktop or laptop will get a workout pushing out those frames.
But that’s not all. This MSI monitor also includes a USB-C port with 65 watts of charging power, meaning it’s easy to connect and charge a laptop with just one cable. Other ports include DisplayPort, double HDMI, plus Ethernet and USB passthrough for connecting extra gadgets.
I’d call $300 for a standard widescreen gaming monitor with a fast IPS panel a good deal already; I paid twice as much about three years ago. Put all that together with an even bigger 40-inch panel and the answer is obvious: this MSI monitor is an absolute steal.
If Amazon sells out—which we’ve already seen happen on several of our favorite Prime Day tech deals—you can try your luck at Best Buy for a slightly less-incredible deal of $320.
